July 29th Tuesday. |
To factory & Luther with H. St. first. Arranged with George H. Smith to finish Steinway Avenue & fill in and around the factory. To town by L. Road It is quite hot but cools a little in the afternoon. Lunch with H. St. at U. Sq. Hotel. Down town in afternoon after getting feet attended to by Dr. Westervelt. Take Supper at L.K. Sing, preside, they resolve to have Summernights festival at Sea Side Palace, Coney Island. |

Close, sultry day. To store at 8 A.M. Lunch with O. Lang & H. St. at U. Sq. Hotel. Business rather dull and quiet. At factory. Ernest Hall & our Bellyman Wolff having been sued, with H. St. in buggy; to Astoria take a splendid Swim bath, in eve'g, write to Theodor and look over our draft for Rent Agreements | |

July 31st Thursday. |
Beautiful mild day, not too hot. Lunch at U. Sq. Hotel with H. Z. & H. St. Spent afternoon with Hempsted of Milwaukee and Fred. H. Cluett. At 5.15. P.M. with Fr. .St. from Pier 1 by Steamboat to Bay Ridge, with Sea Beach R.R. to Sea Beach Hotel, Coney Island, eat Supper there, H. St., Schmidt, Cassebeer, Fr. Steins +c. then to Arion fest, which is very crowded start with Fr. St. at 11 P.M. get home via Sea Beach & L. Road home at 145 A.M. Fritz stops at my house. | |

Very hot day. Lunch at U. Sq. Hotel with Henry Ziegler, Fr. St. sleeping when I went to store and A. Nicholson calling, to Astoria via 23d str. with Schmidt Spend eve'g reading | |
