Sept. 30th Mond.

Quite cold weather, both sides of my neck affected, back free to St. Hall via 34th str. A terrible lot of work awaits me. A. D. Coe of Cleveland, O. calls, and Charles H. St. Stetson +I are having a high old time with him, as he rides a remarkably high horse and demands S&N. prices which I flatly refuse. An immense concourse of people attempt to see me & are mostly sent off, but still I listen to J. Hirschman, Au. Spanuth, Laura Danziger and Bernheim A. M. Britting, Otto Kempner, H. L. Saxer, Adam Weber and Harry Brown call. At 6 P.M. rise, and find upright knee sore, while my back is nearly well but my neck on the right side is also affected. Heinrich Zoellner, and Saml Nordheimer also call, having arrived pr. Trave this morning. Morning Journal has a correct view of the divorce case, and I am glad that neither the Staatsztg, Morng +Eve nor the New Yorker Zeitung and Herold mention the matter. I give Ida Rhoner letter installing her sister Irene in the Scholarship of Musical Guild, give Selma Grimm $75 to study Stenography and typewriting at Walworth College.
