To L.K. at 6 P.M. Supper. at 7½ P.M. brief Trustee Meeting, at 9 P.M. Generalversammlung well attended, changes in Statuten pass unanimously, I taking part in the debate. I am on motion of Richd H. Adams elected President with acclamation, and ascend tribune with enthusiastic cheers. Make a brief address warmly received. I then conduct the balance of the election. Home with George at 1 AM |

excessively busy. L. Heckermann calls, have interview with Ottendorfer, also Judge Van Brunt in the morning, and v. Briesen and Cotterill in the afternoon til 7 P.M. work til 11 P.M. | |

Raining all day, business booming, interview with Henry E. Abbey, close up with him as to pianist for Gerster Concerts, supper with George at U. Sq. Hotel, he to Theatre, I to store and work, had interview with Mrs. Fabris who tells me all about Ernest Gambs. Trechmann cables from London "Five Medals granted two foreign you one" I cable back to him "Cable names piano Gold Medalists" Loaned S. E. Schewitch $150 on his due bill yesterday Dined at Rd Ranft house at noon |

Excessively busy all day, at 12 o'clock with Blasius to Mühlbachs, lunching, at P.M. to Hunters Pt, with Campbell in buggy to E. R. Gas L. Co. see new Gasholder & improvements, then to Steinway, look at new Blacksmith Shop R.R. depot to Oakes, which is very fine. Then to L.K. take supper, preside at first Bd. of T. Meeting, appoint Committees, consider Blechers matter +c. home 12 oclock |

Yesterday Trechmann cabled "Awards tomorrow" and today, "Awards deferred" 6 cables to Chas. Wedding. At 10 A.M. to Dr. Westervelt have my feet attended to. Then up Wm. Mertens house |
