Hugs Nonetheless

It had been several months since we had seen our son and his family (wife, two teen boys, dog). They live 2 hours away in Cambridge, MA. One clear, warm day in late spring, they came to visit, masked, staying outside, bringing their own food, being very careful about protecting us from any undetected virus. They brought, as well, a clear plastic drop cloth, which they draped over the us, making possible at last the longed-for hugs,
given and received.
