Painting to fill the Solitude
After retiring from a career as a public school science teacher in Yonkers N.Y and Kingston Pennsylvania, my wife and I moved to be close to our daughter and her family.
My grandson turned 2 during the first lockdown. We celebrated the event through a storm door as he asked why we didn’t come into his house.
We went from providing daily childcare to not holding him, overnight.
To fill the void, I made use of art supplies left behind when my children left home . I filled the emptiness by teaching myself how to paint.
