Here are some of the National Numismatic Collection’s newest acquisitions and temporary loans since 2015, gathered through public and private partnerships
Since its inception with the Smithsonian Institution’s founding in 1846, the National Numismatic Collection has grown to more than 1.6 million pieces today. The Smithsonian continues to build this world-class collection to preserve monetary objects for future generations and to promote the study of history.
