Blue lines, probably in pencil, appear throughout the Diary and were created by William's son, Theodore Edwin Steinway, who would become Steinway & Sons' third president. Historical events are often highlighted, as are medical and business-related entries. Meaning of D is unknown; however events in the entries appear related to William and Regina's divorce.
