German Liederkanz.

One of the most congenial men's evenings arranged by the Music Committee was quite well attended yesterday with F. A. Ringler presiding. The many programmed numbers followed one another without too much delay and the general socializing could start around midnight. On the artistic side the chorus led by Heinrich Zoellner deserves much recognition for the nuanced presentations: "Venetian gondola song" by Meyer-Helmund, Eduard Reuling solo; "Wenn alle Brünnlein fliessen" by Baldamus; J. Gall's "Mrs. Einzig," and several folk tunes. Equally applauded were Hans Seitz for several humorous songs, tenor Albert Thies, base Hermann Trost and Wm. Hoyt, American humorist Will Payne and pantomime Bunth and Rudd. Deafening applause filled the hall when Wm. Steinway appeared and led a spiffy Salamander. The orchestra played several numbers and the audience energetically participated in the "Rundgesänge", many of which were repeated and ended with the favorite LK song:

"Mit Sing und Sang
Mit Kling und Klang
Zieh'n wir die Welt entlang!
Wir sind ein lustig Sängerchor
Sind stets bei Laune und Humor!
Ein fröhlich Lied
Ein frisch Gemüth,
Uns die Natur beschied -
Wir sind des Frohsinns Kinder ganz
Im Deutschen Liederkranz!"
