New York, October 26th 1876.

Octbr 26th Thursday.

Busy all day Send Bam & Paulas pictures to Madame Roos, am at Supreme Court where I write letter to Theodor, Scharnberger case does not come on, lunch at Schulers, meet Jacobs from Milwaukee, after Supper to Pastor Krüsi, then to L.K. where I meet Miß Poppenberg, who sings quite well. Home at 11½ PM.

Octbr 27th friday.

Weber publishes Geo. W. Bristow Interview in the Times, am excessively pestered all day. Am down town, and lunch at Tafelrunde, notice in Eve'g Post that I am to be nominated as Alderman at large, much to my disgust. Albert returns from Philadelphia in the afternoon, also reports many indiscretions of Boscovitz. Paula & Georgie write each a German and english report letter to me which I enclose to their mother. After listening to H. Linde's Shakespearen recitations I work til 12 oclock, writing Schiedmayer, Theo & RR
