A little cooler, very busy. Lunch at Hellers, in afternoon Stetson & Tretbar to Astoria with me with 4.40 P.M. boat via 23d street, we drive to Astoria Organ factory and try the tone and action of the first Organ which appears all right. I am at Flushing Ave. Improvement Commißion at Wilson present Bennett Wilson & myself Engage Otis as Engineer at the pleasure of the board. Meet Ziegler at Rassiga's who shows me the complaint of his wife for a divorce. Took a swimbath |

Beautiful day. Papa Cassebeer brings Helene, Ziegler & wife there. In forenoon with Ziegler & Luther at factory, Tretbar & wife come, also Sommers. I take a splendid swimbath at 6 P.M. Afterwards play Skat with H. St. & Ziegler, win 76 Cents Tretbar brought me letters from Theodor from London, dated June 27th |

Business very dull, still I am resolved to work with full force, see Genl Schwarzwadder at Germania Bank, who decides to take about $20.000 of paper through the Astoria Organ Co. lunch at Hellers, it is fearfully hot, to Astoria via 23d str. at 4.40 P.M. George receives me on Dock. Jacob Ziegler & H. Cassebeer come at 8 P.M. Play Skat lose 48 Cents. Took splendid swimbath with George. |
