dor. At 12 oclock in large Wagon viz Degens, Zieglers, Julia and her boys, Theo. Myself + wife to Esslingen  walk over quaint old town, are quite jolly except myself, return to Hotel by 7 P.M. write letters

Again sleepless night, visit Steidle, Meinhardt Zieglers, at 12.25 P.M. depart to Frankfurt with wife we arrive there at 6 P.M. meet Papa Ranft who had come in response to my telegram, also Candidus father + son. After supper Papa Ranft & I have long conference on subject in question. I sleep better but wife suffers dreadfully

Meet Anton Meyer, write letters, Candidus Papa Ranft & I lunch at Prinz von Adcadien, ending at Cafè Bauer. I work again all the afternoon, see Grandpa off at 7½ P.M. remain home, we both take a bath, have slight touch in right ancle. Sleep pretty well.

To depot meet Frl. & my boys all well at 9 A.M. Have a long talk with Daimler in presence of Harry Candidus At 2.10 depart with family by Rail to Coblenz, at 5 P.M. stop at Hotel zum Riesen, write in ev’g, both wife +I rest well

At 10.15 depart by steamer Hansa, up River eat on board, reach Rüdesheim at 3.15 P.M. by Zahnrad Bahn up to Denkmal, lovely sight, down again, to Altdeutsche Weinstube & Wallmachs Wine Cellars. To Coblenz by train. Receive a bunch of letters work til 10½ P.M. boys enjoyed this immensely

I grow more and more reposed in mind again and both wife & I sleep well, made trip in forenoon in Carriage to the Carthouse and View of the Moselle then drive through the City and across Moselle bridge. At noon receive report of Grandpa as to his visit at Wurzen, which is fairly satisfactory. In afternoon we drive to Arenberg
